A Signature Snowshoe Experience

By snowmobile and sled, we drive through the Arctic night for approximately ten minutes to the beautiful Rautasjärvi River, framed by a pristine, snow-covered forest. At the river’s edge, we leave the machines behind and continue on an intimate snowshoe journey along the frozen river and through the silent woodland. As the forest grows still, your private guide prepares a warming campfire and serves hot drinks, creating a cozy haven in the wilderness. Here, beneath the vast Arctic sky, we pause and wait for the Northern Lights to reveal themselves—an unforgettable moment of tranquillity, exclusivity, and pure Arctic magic.

Enjoy a magical evening around the crackling fire in the tipi outside the beautiful Lodge Máttaráhkka. After we have enjoyed a two-course dinner, we drive with easy-to-manoeuvre snowmobiles up to the top of Mt. Ednamvárri. This mountain offers endless views over the Arctic tundra and the Abisko Alps, which are away from light pollution and the perfect place to see and experience the majestic Auroras.The guide will bring a camera and take pictures for your memories throughout the evening.

Dogsledding Through the Snowy Forestlands

Drive your own team of sleddogs (2 people per sled)

Upgrade your experience and take the reins of your very own team of sled dogs. Two guests share each sled, taking turns driving and riding as you glide through the Arctic wilderness.

You will meet your husky team at Husky Home in Laukkuospa, where hosts and experienced mushers Ilva and Peter warmly welcome you. They share their deep knowledge of the Arctic husky lifestyle and life as a musher, offering a genuine insight into their close bond with the dogs. Their dedication to animal well-being was recognised with an animal welfare award in 2026.

The journey takes you through a breathtaking landscape of high mountains, pristine wilderness, and a beautiful winding river, with excellent chances of spotting wild moose along the way. A truly authentic and unforgettable Arctic adventure.

Northern lights safari

As evening approaches, your guide carefully monitors weather conditions and aurora forecasts to select the best possible viewing location for the night. After dinner, we head out to the area most likely to offer clear views of the Northern Lights.

Depending on the conditions, we travel by minibus to optimal viewing spots, ride snowmobiles up to higher mountain terrain in search of clearer skies, or—if the best conditions are found in the forest—set off on a guided snowshoe walk through the peaceful woodland. This flexible approach allows us to adapt each evening’s adventure to nature itself, maximising your chances of witnessing the magical Aurora Borealis dancing across the Arctic sky.
