This evening is all about relaxing and enjoying the local cuisine. You’ll be served a set 3-course dinner.

Dogsledding: Ride with the guide

Enjoy the ride on the sled with the guide driving the dog sled through a winter wonderland in the taiga forest.

Halfway through the tour, Swedish Fika is offered over the crackling fire in the tipi in the middle of the forest.

After a fast-paced dog sled ride through the forest, the guide leaves you at the Icehotel, where you can feast on a Swedish buffet of dishes and experience the magical original ICHOTEL made of snow and ice, as well as the revolutionary ICEHOTEL 365.

Admire the spectacular individual Art Suites designed by leading artists worldwide, and take a cocktail in the unique ice glasses at the sculptured ice bar.

Enjoy the Aurora Show from the top of Mt Ednamvarri with 360-degree views.

Enjoy a magical evening around the crackling fire in the tipi outside the beautiful Lodge Máttaráhkka. After we have enjoyed a two-course dinner, we drive with easy to manoeuvre snowmobiles up to the top of Mt. Ednamvárri. This mountain offers endless views over the Arctic tundra and the Abisko Alps, which are away from light pollution and the perfect place to see and experience the majestic Auroras.

The guide will bring a camera and take pictures for your memories throughout the evening.

Northern lights safari

As evening approaches, your guide carefully monitors weather conditions and aurora forecasts to select the best possible viewing location for the night. After dinner, we head out to the area most likely to offer clear views of the Northern Lights.

Depending on the conditions, we travel by minibus to optimal viewing spots, ride snowmobiles up to higher mountain terrain in search of clearer skies, or—if the best conditions are found in the forest—set off on a guided snowshoe walk through the peaceful woodland. This flexible approach allows us to adapt each evening’s adventure to nature itself, maximising your chances of witnessing the magical Aurora Borealis dancing across the Arctic sky.
